Le Morte D’Arthur is Sir Thomas Malory’s legendary retelling of the Arthurian cycle, bringing together the stories of King Arthur, Merlin, the Knights of the Round Table, the Quest for the Holy Grail, and the tragic fall of Camelot.

Originally compiled in the 15th century and first printed by William Caxton in 1485, Malory’s work became the definitive English version of the Arthurian legends and remains one of the foundational texts of medieval romance literature.

This Everyman’s Library edition presents the work across two volumes, with an introduction by Professor Rhys.

The set includes the classic tales of:

• King Arthur’s rise and reign
• Merlin and the enchantments surrounding Camelot
• Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere
• The Knights of the Round Table
• The Holy Grail quest
• The final battles and collapse of Arthur’s kingdom

A highly influential work that shaped later fantasy and mythic storytelling, Le Morte D’Arthur remains essential reading for collectors of medieval literature, mythology, folklore, and Arthurian legend.

Two-volume Everyman’s Library set in original blue cloth bindings. Volume I retains the original dust jacket, which shows significant wear and tearing to the rear panel, along with edge wear, creasing, and small losses. Volume II does not include a dust jacket.

Both bindings show general age-related rubbing and wear to edges and corners. Gilt titling to the spine of Volume II remains visible. Interiors appear generally clean and well preserved for age, with decorative endpapers intact. There is a previous owner inscription dated 1935 to the front endpaper of Volume I.

A solid and attractive vintage reading set with pleasing shelf presence despite the worn jacket (please see photographs).
