Hi, my name is Stuart and I own Victoria Quate, a boutique antiquarian bookshop curating curious artefacts & printed oddities, pieces with history, charm, and a certain unnameable magic. Whether you're a collector, a gift-giver, or someone who simply can't resist the pull of a dusty bookshelf, there's something here for you. I’ve loved books for as long as I can remember and I have been lucky enough to work within the book publishing industry, working across all genres from biography, local history and photography to fantasy, literary fiction and children’s books and I have also had the good fortune to have spent time working in an antiquarian library with beautiful books dating back to the 15th Century.
At Victoria Quate, we specialise in rare, out-of-print, and unusual books, comics, and ephemera relating to romanticism and gothic fiction, myths & legends, folklore, occultism, spiritualism, art and science. From 19th-century poetry to mid-century children’s tales, from haunting chapbooks to hand-coloured prints, each piece is chosen for its story, its style, or its strangeness.
